Club History

Founded in 2009 with the aim of to combat childhood obesity, KidzFitzone was delivering health and well-being programmes to the local schoolchildren of Craigavon.
Physical activity, Mental health and Nutrition were the main topics in the local primary schools as well as family activities for parents and children to spend time together, learn, improve their health and well-being and have some fun.

In 2013, after various conversations with local communities, school teachers and youth leaders, KidzFitzone was to become The Fitzone Foundation and become registered as a charity in 2014 to better meet the health and well-being needs of the community.
A group of local people came together to form the committee to start a new chapter, empowering the community to take ownership of their own health and well-being.
Our focus changed from children to families as we wanted to give the parents the skills and knowledge to help their children before they developed the bad habits.

From delivering 3 physical activity classes per week to now delivering over 20 programmes weekly just shows how far we have come over the years.
Some programmes that we deliver are:
Physical activity classes
Mens support group
Womnes support group
Menopause support
Mental health workshops.
Training and Volunteering opportunities.

We have over 600 connections on a monthly basis with the age range from 12 years to 84 years.
Moyraverty Hall was our first 'home' to deliver programmes outside the schools and youth clubs. We have since been in St Anthonys parish hall, St Anthonys primary school and now in Legahory Centre trying to find a place to call home but still stay in Craigavon.
